heated rear screen

i have a 2005 330D and as the weather is getting worse i now have the need to use the heated rear screen which is really slow to clear (15minutes) is there the foils accross the screenare intact but is there anywhere else i should be looking to see where the drain in power is comming from. any help apreciated
