Thought it was about time I started a thread here showing my new toy smile
I've been hankering for a track day toy for a while now, and this cropped up for a very reasonable price:

A low mileage (82k) full BM service history, completely un-molested 328i coupe.

Didn't take long to tear it to pieces, it now looks like this!

It's just about ready for it's first outing - a few more bits to do - get rid of the fogs, chequer plate floor plates and some tyres for the wet and I should be good to go biggrin

Unfortunately the "racing" fuel cap cover had to go, it didn't deliver the additional horse power that the seller promised frown

Nicely done, I like. Surely there's still more weight to be chopped out of the dash though wink

New set of wheels so I can have road tyres fitted. The offset is different so it looks like I'll need to roll the arches and lift the suspension a little:

Very nice!

Me and a mate took a 325 E36 to the ring a couple of years back. One of the best all-rounder cars we have ever 'larked about in'.

Enjoy!

Chris.

Spot on that, would be my ideal track day toy as well, maybe one day.

Could do with that halfords badge ripping off and a new plate, other than that :y: Top car!

Agreed - I have new plates ready to fit, and the badge is already off.

I'd be cautious with those discs. If the holes are cast - as you see on porkers etc - you're generally ok, if they're drilled - which they look to be - they tend to act as stress risers and propagate cracks. Drilled discs on a heavy track car are typically not a good idea.

Looks fun though - enjoy.

Looks good mate! What size & width tyres are you running with the slicks?

Only one seat?

the biggest part of the fun for me is taking passengers out and scaring/thrilling them!

I was going to suggest changing the waterpump, themostat and viscous fan, as that farked me the first time out.. But I see you already have smile

Slicks and no roll cage?

Rather you than me.
