Out at the moment but where do I start when I get home?(if I can get back in!) Boot and passenger side are fine and internal buttons are working.

The only thing I can think of is that yesterday I used the "door lock" button under the radio. Don't think I opened the door from the outside again after that either.

Hoping the passenger side doesn't give up as the secret release doesn't work!

I would take the door card off and check all the plug connection as they can get water in them or get damp and cause a bad connection.

If the door opens fine from the inside I'd be inclined to think that it was the door button on the exterior that's throwing a hissy fit. They're not expensive so might be worth a punt.

Will take a look in the morning then. Is the button just glued/bonded in place? Can I test by just shorting the wires on the back of the button?

Actually it did rain last night, and the car wasn't under its cover. Though it wasn't very heavy rain.

Any idea where I can pick up a button quickly and cheaply smile

Oh, and any idea how to remove the button, just so I'm prepared for the morning? smile

Removing the button involves dismantling the wing mirror. Fiddly but not difficult. The switch has a threaded body and is fixed by a nut on the back (inside the mirror) so do NOT try to prise it off.

The contacts on the button tend to corrode away so you may find a loose wire in there. The button is a momentary push to make switch so touching the wires together will open the door.

Thanks for the advice chaps.

Turns out it was a corroded point on the mirror button that just fell away. No warning nothing, just stopped working all at once.

Took the button with me to maplins and the monkey behind the counter reckons Maplin don't do switches this small, so trying to find a part number online so i can go back to him and get him to check their stock for me. Going to fit my waterproofing covers at the same time too, ordered them a while back but never bothered fitting them.

I thought it was an RS part?
Try looking at the equivalent parts sticky on the Cerbera forum, I'm sure it's in there!

Think I had a look at that thread earlier and the links have expired, but will look again.

Any idea if this will work?

Not sure if "Off-mom" is push-to-make or push-to-break?!

EDIT: Just had a quick trawl through that thread and these are them it seems smile

D'oh! Went to take a look at the passenger side button and one of the terminals broke on that onne too after I breathed on it!

Now I have no way of getting into the car so have left the wing mirror apart so I can get to the wiring! Lol

Need those buttons to arrive ASAP!

RS Electronics - part number listed on the Alternative Parts List ;-)

Outside door buttons are:

http://www.alexjudd.com/cerbera/parts/#Outside%20d...

Inside door buttons are:

Just been looking and I think most low voltage 13.65mm buttons should work so you _should_ be able to pick another colour and if you're feeling brave run a voltage wire from the door up to illuminate the buttons too smile

Here's a list of potential compatibles from RS

Cheers buddy, its pretty much the first ones in your 'compatibles' list that I ordered. I thought about some LED ones that light up but wanted something simple.

They arrived today, so I've soldered some cabling to them, covered the terminals in blobs of hot glue to sheild them from the elements and prevent them from ever corroding again and have put the waterproof boots (I bought from Clever trevors months ago) on them.

Just need some time, daylight and decent weather to finish the job smile
