986 S Exhaust

Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can get a switchable exhaust for the 986 Boxster S? I’ve seen them on 996 911’s (of similar age) and 987 Boxster’s - But I was hoping that someone on here may know of a company out there selling them, I’ve found nothing so far

Sadly if we do anything like decatting it'll be too loud for the track (planning a track day at the moment). Idea was that with a suitable exhaust it would he quiet enough for the track, and the a bit louder bif we wanted it to

Obviously you can't turn it off, but why would you. It sounds awesome.

No drone, normal noise at low speeds, squeeze the accelerator and listen to the heavens open

I don't doubt that the exhaust will sound amazing It's finding the right balance between getting a nicer noise (and slightly louder one), and being too loud for track. It would be a shame to get a nice exhaust but the cost is not being able to go on track

Smaller the bypass the quieter, mine is an 1 1/2, not had a db test. It's not too load. Just right I'd say. Sounds very similar to my milltek system on my old M3

What is the track db limit?

I think some tracks vary from about 95db to about 105db I think.
