What have I done? Routine maintenance and now undrivable
Discussion
2007 LS2 VXR8
Car at the in between service point, so been planning for a while to do few bits today.
New wipers fitted, checked all fluids, topped up screen wash and oil, cleaned and oiled the K&N oil filter and cleaned the throttle body, obviously done something to the throttle body that must be causing the issue that has now developed.
Car has had a throttle body issue for a while now, throws up the throttle position sensor code but drives fine, just struggles with idle when starting from cold for no more than 30 seconds and that's it, runs fine afterwards.
Cleaned the throttle body using a, little throttle body cleaner on a toothbrush to remove the tar at the back of the disc/flap and on the rear of the flap, each time wiping off the loosened tar with a cloth, repeated till all tar was removed and wiped dry.
I tried to remove the wiring harness to the throttle body but couldn't figure how to, so left as it was and then reconnected everything.
Started car up and it was idling a bit higher than usual, just over 1000rpm. Then went to go down the street, the revs are increasing with the engine speed even in neutral. When in gear the car pulls itself along like cruise control is activated.
What have I done and anyone had similar?! fearing the worst :-( .......

If you've cleaned the filter, then I'm guessing you might have unplugged the MAF sensor cable part way down the air intake pipe to make accessing the air filter easier. Did you remember to reconnect the MAF sensor cable?
I've done this before and had similar issues until I plugged it back in again. I was lucky that the cable didn't get tangled in the belt.

Thanks for replies, no obvious signs of air leak everything fitted back as secure as before.
I didn't remove any cables from the MAF when doing the air filter and all still connected.
Been researching and found someone with similar symptoms (although they used brake cleaner to clean instead of throttle body cleaner),
http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-external-e...
in the end a replacement throttle body fixed his problem, the final post suggested using tech 2 to do an idle relearn could have fixed it.
Then found this vid on cleaning throttle bodys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrcaDh4xDLs
at about 2 mins 50 secs he mentions not pushing the throttle body open manually (as I did) but instead getting someone to do it using the accelerator pedal with the ignition on but not running, now wondering if that created the problem?
Next found this information from Holden manual on how to do an idle learn procedure after cleaning a throttle body http://www.hsvforum.com.au/archive/index.php/t-514...
tried this but no joy.
Not sure of next move, think either trying to get someone with tech 2 to do a reset and idle relearn. Also ordering a new throttle body as this worked in the above example.
Any other thoughts?

Yes electronic tb, now realise I should of disconnected battery first. Or had ignition on with engine not running and some one pressing the accelerator to open the tb instead.
Like you said something isn't aligning now, also wonder about the MAF as mentioned by Pah, as the slightest bit of speed, even a few mph and the engine revs up when in neutral starting to roll down hill.
