Blat or hoon???

As a relative newcomer to the banter used on "gassing station", I was wondering what the difference was between a "blat" and a "hoon" or are they one and the same thing?....

ie: A damn good thrash....

A blat is a short sharp piece of motoring abuse and a hoon is actioned over a longer distance. Me thinks

I think you'll find the main difference is that Blat is a noun e.g. I'm off for a Blat in the motor.

Whereas Hoon is a verb e.g. he came hooning around the corner. Also, it has conotations of being a dodgy Defence Minister, so I prefer Blat personally.

I think "blat" is a spirited drive, while a "hoon" is a bit more loony.

That said, a "blat", to me, is shorter than an "hoon".
