Plug in some headphones and away you go.
I know people do it, but you will be a lot more visible in a Caterham so you could get done for driving without due care and attention.Plug in some headphones and away you go.
If you do get one try walking around while listening. I have a little Goodmans one that drops out while I walk around behind the lawn mower.
Thanks.
I also wondered if the DAB signal on the motorway would be string enough for a personal set like that (as opposed to a car with a built in DAB antenna).

I wondered if the electrics on the car might not be suppressed or something and there would be interference which would walk over the radio signal.I also wondered if the DAB signal on the motorway would be string enough for a personal set like that (as opposed to a car with a built in DAB antenna).
I tried a portable DAB unit in a car a few years ago - didn't work. Couldn't hold signal well enough to be usable.
Even at home DAB IME needs a very good aerial or be in a very good signal area to work properly. You will have neither.
You might have better luck with a 3G or 4G device and internet radio. But again, coverage can drop out readily.

I bought a 3.5 to 3.5 adaptor lead to plug into my aux port on my head unit and this wouldn't pick up a signal, not sure if the leads are different regarding working as an ariel, so back to the headphones.
Not different as such - I use exactly that method to connect a DAB Walkman-style unit to my stereo in the garage and it works very well usually. Actually my next thing was to try it in the car, must try to remember to do that.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
