Posting utter twaddle
Discussion
Ted,
Ever thought about a new forum designed for those who are only interested in posting garbage or sexual innuendo in P&P?
P&P was a great idea to keep GG on track - but the increasing amount of utter drivel in there is becoming tedious.
An anything goes / muppet type section might fix this. I might even contribute to it myself the odd afternoon after a liquid lunch.
Cheers,
Eric

There being The Lounge. I'm seeing loads of complaints elsewhere about inconsistent moderation & the amount of crap being posted in The Lounge
People are actually now saying they only use PH now because they can't access other sites at work
I had a thread locked last night, it was one asking for a new forum. My own fault - I hadn’t realised until it was locked that there had been (a lot!) of other requests for something similar.
But it seems a little odd to me that something that there is a lot of threads made about and so prompts requests for a separate forum gets denied and the comment “why aren't there sub-forums for every single thing in the universe?” agreed with by one of the Site Staff. Yet there are separate forums for Watches, and Books, and Scale Models, Sport & Football (is Football not a sport?) and Science – so why not one for Clothing? It could even merge with Watches & have all the jewellery questions put in there as well.

There are 147 (by my count) forums on PH. How many more do people want? Just because there happen to be a load of clothing/history/cushion/cufflink threads in the Lounge at the moment doesn't warrant an entire forum for them, IMO. And as the old adage goes, if you don't like it, don't read it. I don't look in the Lounge precisely because it's usually full of drivel.
The real lack as far as I'm concerned, is a forum where people can ask questions they want proper replies to which is properly moderated to remove/deter piss-taking, abuse, 'I wouldism' and kept on topic. But that's counter to the current model so I don't expect to see it any time soon, nor would I bother asking.
I know
Exactly, yet there were very few posts on Watches, or Tents, or Motorhomes or scale models - yet they have their own forums...we keep being told we can't have a thread for this that & the other, but when there is a lot of us asking for the same thing, we get told no. Yet we have forums for all sorts of other crap (as highlighted in my post.

Taking a quick look, there seem to be few posts on a lot of the sub-fora, but I suppose merging them is too much bother. Perhaps in the past PH have been too quick to create subs where the demand wasn't really consistent enough to justify it, who knows.

Lots of people asked for the Book one but it doesn't seem to attract a lot of posts. But what is 'a lot' of people asking for one forum? I've seen a few asking for a clothing forum recently but I don't remember ever seeing a request for one before, though I admit I may have missed it as I'm not around all the time.
