My 500 is de-catted (pre & main) and sleeved. It is loud and sounds awesome under load from 3k rpm. However, I do need to reduce the decibels a little as I have become very conscious when driving it late at night, especially through small villages. Plus it is also making a mess of my garage door when I first start it as there's nothing to soak up the moisture and soot!!!!

I wan't something that doesn't effect the HP too much and doesn't stop it popping. I was considering either reverting to semi-sleeved or the Cherrybomb silencers below. So could do with some advice if possible?

1. Do both of the below offer the same performance (is the only difference finish)?
2. How will these effect the power?
3. How does it effect the sound?
4. What diameter do I need?
5. Is it a difficult job to do?

The second one is mild steel so longevity will be an issue

The red one has "a straight through design for easier engine breathing and maximum performance."

That implies that it will be noisy.

have you thought to try removable track day end inserts ?

i have a couple that just slip in the tail pipes tighten a screw and its done and knocks of a load of noise, fitted in 30 seconds for night-time stealth driving

I couldn't find the inserts, only the cans that go over. Have you got a link to the inserts?

I think the above will cost as much as getting the half & half option done. Which is best?

£120 for the Cherry Bombs, plus fitting. A couple of hundred to get the box off, cut open, sleeves in and the re-welded.

What size Cherry Bombs would I need? Just need to price it all up properly.

I saw those a few months back, but they've been out of stock for ages. Any idea where else sells them? Do I need to tap a screw into my lovely stainless tail pipes? yikes

Yep, that's what I use for any distances but not TDs.

My big bolt ons for TDs look straight through but can reduce noise by up to 10 DBs!
