Dodgy history RR spot but car seems good - mixed feelings HE

I bought what seemed like a decent deal RR sport with an HST body kit, 95k miles and very clean interior, exterior has had bonnet spray and looks like a poor attempt and blending the door paint but mot no advisories and recent service.
Problem is I now discover a gap in the history.
Main dealer up to 45k @ 20111 (no problems here)
Indie stamp @ 65k (found out the stamp is faked)
Indie stamp @ 65k (found out the stamp is faked)
Indie stamp at 95k (this one is genuine - it checks out)
I acquired from an owner who only had the car 8 months and passed it on to somebody who then sold to me.
I had an inspection at local garage and all looks sound, same bumpers still on and nothing more than some poor paintwork that isnt too bad at all. I also did HPI - all Ok, checked MOT (only have one but no advisories).
FWIW I gave 14k plus an old 200k volvo in part x so i guess it stands me at 17k ish.
I cant imagine the mileage is clocked as if it was they would have made it a lot lower than 95k
Ive called HPI company and they said its def not recorded as crashed or stolen.
So my worry is that why did somebody have the need to put fake stamps in the book or could it have been that an owner didn't have the book stamped and therefore the last bloke took it on himself to fake it rather than admit to this?
why am i worrying, should i just enjoy the car?
will i have major issues come resale time?

The car is yours now, you can't give it back.
You can either flog it on, or enjoy it.
I'd suggest the latter.
Resale depends on when you sell it.
But, if your honest and it's been reliable for you there's no reason to think it won't sell for a fair price.
On older cars it's the recent history that can be more important than a missed oil change 50k miles ago.

How do you know the stamps are faked?
Is there some way of proving the last owner did this? Is that not fraud?
Also how long do you intend to keep the car?
I ask because the older it gets, I think the less important the service history earlier in its life.
One of my cars is immaculate - an X reg car that is like it left the factory yesterday. From memory it has a 3 year gap in its service history. Its an MG and the gap coincides with the end of MGR. I guess the owner assumed there were no garages to service it! It was dealer serviced by the supplying garage from new.
It was sold in 2008, and the very thorough service history starts again. It was then sold in 2011 to the guy I bought it off and he was a fanatic when it came to servicing. I have photos, receipts, even physical bits of the car he insisted I took as proof they had been serviced. If anyone wants an old water pump, timing bests, head gasket, big bolts and other things, let me know!
It passed its MOT with no advisories from my local garage and their very strict tester who actually told me it was the nicest MGF he had ever seen.
The car is perfect and I really don't think the 3 year service gap has done it any long term harm.
Maybe treat your new car to a big service at a proper indy who knows Landys and carry on.
Its got to 100K or thereabouts, so its lasted that long.
Hope you end up enjoying it.

Seems strange you bought then hpi checked it and then checked the history.
Is there more to his than you're letting on?
If it runs, great but youve got a 100k mile (prob more) range rover with fake history thats been passed around between owners like a hot potato.
I think you'll take a both on it come resale.
No i did HPI before I bought it and FWIW I contacted RR and found out that they did some work at 89k just 8 months ago, which happens to be just before the last owner took it in. its showing 7k in the last 8 months which is not unrealistic.

A car that had been off the road for a while to be bodge repaired would have a long time gap between services rather than a mileage gap. Secondly it has been confirmed the original bumper is on the car and has not been repaired so no significant frontal impact.
Judging by the description of the visible work I'm thinking the car has had a quick cosmetic spray job to cover up stone-chipping, which would be consistent with the high mileage. The servicing gaps are irrelevant as long as the car checks out now and the recent and future history is kept in order.

Deffo the rear bumper still on original and the front rad is original, not sure when the HST kit, grille and side vents were fitted but they look pretty good, I took to body spray place and they said it looks like the bonnet has been sprayed and then the sides blended albeit not very well.
Having said that ive looked at some nearly new rr sports and the paintwork looks pretty poor. Teh aerodynamics of these cars dont help either, every stone within a mile lands on the bonnet.
My plan now is to get my local garage to put it on the ramp, double check for any chassis damage, give the engine a once over, listen for timing chain issues etc and then if it all checks out OK, Im gonna spend a couple of grand doing the body work up, had a quote for 1200 for a bonnet spray and both doors plus blend in, then around 800 on a better set of wheels RR used ones. Then Il feel Ive got a well sorted car.
My missus will be the main driver in any case and she only does 5k a year so the miles will be low in 3 years time.
Im pleasantly surprised too at the cost of parts etc for these cars, my other car is a Cayman S manual and before that an old 911, all things started at a grand and then plus some.
