2000 BMW E39 M5
Discussion
Hello chaps
I'm newly registered on the forum and I guess a thread on my car is as good an ice breaker as any.
Well as the the title suggests, its a 2000 M5 which I picked up a few months ago. I have been after a car that ticks all the boxes for some time now... I have had my fair share of toys over the last few years, but a growing family is making my car requirements change somewhat. Having said that, the E39 M5 has been on my hit list for some time and its a pleasure to finally get the chance to own one. I put in the effort when it came to seeing what was on the market at the time and I am chuffed with the outcome.
For the age, the car is in very good condition. The carbon black paintwork has a nice deep shine with only a few tiny blemishes (mainly on the rear bumper) and the interior very much the same, with the lovely (in my opinion) red/black leather combo. Mechanically the car is superb and performance as you would expect from the lovely S62 lump. Engine aside though, the one thing that has impressed me the most with the M5 is the handling... for a car of this size and weight it has blown me away.
Plans for the car are to simply keep it in this condition.
Anyhoo enough yap, heres some pictures:

You have the perfect spec M5! Smart suit on the outside, fun on the inside.
I have had a look at these, but i'm slightly scared of the potential costs - i'm looking at merc C43s with the notion that if the gearbox has been replaced they'd be cheaper. I'm not sure if this is right though - the E39 M5 seems too cheap for what it is, there must be some major hidden cost!

An all round awesome car that really is the ultimate all rounder
By far my favourite ever BMW & I really like the colour combo
I've got my brother in laws currently for some upgrades

And from a couple of months ago

I've done quite a bit more to it recently but with the exhaust & brake upgrade it makes an awesome car into the ultimate Imho
