Have decided to get an F430 after toying with the idea of getting another Gallardo I have driven an F1 F430 and it is perfect for me...

However as I am unfortunately a very impatient person I cannot wait until a car with the spec I want turns up!

I want a coupe, F1, Red, with black leather & carpets...

Unfortunately everything seems to be red with creme leather & red carpets!

So heres the dilema, do I:
1) buy a car with a different but acceptable paint colour e.g Grigio Silverstone, to get the black interior i desire, and get the car wrapped red
2) Buy a red one and get the entire interior retrimmed e.g. doorcards, pillars, seats, etc.

I think wrapping will be easier but will i get the factory paint shine or will it look like somethings wrong with it?

I know people will say wait for the right car etc but I have been looking since the start of Jan and am starting to get frustrated!

Opinions?

As soon as you settle for a car the next day the perfect car will come along as is always the way.

Too late - i just took delivery of the perfect one (Grigio Siverstone though, and its a Spider biggrin)
I've been driving it most of the day, and reluctantly have to stop now so that i can go to the pub and watch the rugby drink

Well its easy,

Wait until the car comes up, or compromise.

I wouldnt bother going through the hassle of wrapping or redoing the interior.

Well I am also on the same hunt as you, but I am fine with Crema interior... So if you view a car that really is perfect, but not for you due to interior colour please email me the details.. I have just started looking. Also only wanting a Coupe (no Spider) with F1 in Red with Crema!

Definitely don't fart around having the interior re-done...but I can't see having a wrap done being a big issue if you don't want to wait. Couple of grand and as long as it is done by someone reputable you will struggle to know it had even been done.

That's what I thought, the interior seems a bit too much hassle, even though its the same price as a wrap (ish)but I worry there will be creme plastic bits on the seats which will need replacing etc!

Just worried about trying to sell a car that isnt red or black - until January I had a cobalt blue 997 turbo with 19k on the clock which i was having trouble shifting even to traders because of the colour... still didnt stop it being stolen before i could sell it though!

UHMATT there are a couple of F1 Coupes about at the min, but depends what your budget is? Im looking at sub £80k so we may be in different markets... Im finding tons of manuals about as im looking at the cheaper end of things which is frustrating!

Anyone know of people on here with GLOSS wraps? Interested to see how they compare to actual paint...

Talk to Verdi as they could source you one:

The Paintshield team do gloss wraps and I've seen a 360CS in there and I couldn't even tell it was wrapped!

Wait for the right car or wrap it. I definitely wouldn't faff about changing the interior.

Red and black interior was my original choice also, in the year leading unto my purchase I maybe saw 2 or 3 with red/black, when I was buying I went for crema as there was no black to be found. They do come up occasionally but as was said before you either wait or compromise, I compromised but to be honest i'm glad I did, I really like the crema interior now.

It's highly unlikely you'll find the 'perfect' car if you're not speccing it yourself.

John.

I know what you mean, I had a similar problem when I was looking. I had plenty of cars to choose from, as I was looking at the ubiquitous rosso/crema combo. However, I hate red carpets and could not find a single rosso/crema car with black carpets.

I'm not a fan of changing things on cars and it's a lot of money to pay for something when it's not quite right.

I am looking around the £80k mark, with some flexibility. Much more than this and I would push to get a Scuderia and spend £120k smile

I think the red carpets are what I find most offensive tbh, light seats I can handle if they are clean and in good condition, although the carpets aren't as bad in the flesh and I suppose can be hidden under black mates...

I think the red carpets make the interior !

Plain black carpets with black dasboard are boring and like most ordinary cars. Get it in black paint as well and you could start up a funeral service !

A decent set of matts over the carpets should see you alright. Personally like the red carpet.

I just don't get the need for red, I've always seen it as a cheap looking colour, maybe as a vintage colour but thats it. Saying that the current Nero D is a bugger to keep clean, I just tell myself it's in stealth mode when grubby biggrin
