Are they cheaper than the UK for a Sub?

I don't think Rolex currently allow the duty-free shops to stock SS Sport watches, you only ever see bi or precious metal in the Subs, GMTs and Daytonas.

I came through LHR and Dubai last week and am in the market for Sub Date. LHR do not stock steel sports Rolex. Dubai airport had them in - I worked it out to be around £5.1k. Outside the airport in the Dubai malls it was the same as the UK (£5.7k), however, they maybe more willing to haggle!

SS Sub Date £4,475 in Hong Kong. I enquired in about 4 ADs everyone of them said how many do you want.

they are 29k dirahams which is around 5k gbp. There are no local taxes (there is a 5% duty on import but no sales tax) so no such thing as duty free. Duty free is generally the same as the discounted prices you will get in Dubai Malls.

Then, assuming you declare it at customs, you have VAT to pay............

price + 20% VAT, so a £5k watch becomes a >£6k watch.

Of course if you don't, that's another story.

So apart from Hong Kong and Jersey, what other country is cheaper than the UK?
