Anyone got one of these on their suspension???

I have an extra bracket (see pics below) fitted to my cerb. They came with the car when I bought it and I thought it was standard. However plasticman says it's not standard and has never seen them before. I need another one as one get bent in the crash. Anyone know where I could get one? If not I would have to get it fabricated.

Is your car a very early GT 4.5?
Ive seen them before on only a very few cars, all early GTs .. they move the dampers top mount up and out relative to the std pickup point.

It is a '98 4.5 I don't know if it is a GT car. How would I find out?

To be fair the GT moniker means not a lot, but it might have it written on the ecu cover in felt tip pen or it would certainly be on the original block engine number if it still has the original block.

I will have a look then. Why did they fit them? Does it make them handle better?

I guess they are going to be a bugger to source

easy enough for any garage to fabricate a new one don't know why they used them other than lowering the front slightly and raising the spring/damper leverage over the hub assembly. seem to have minimal effect on the car tbh. You might as well take them both of and go back to std mounting points.

Ah, just spotted this.

Joo's taken some off our car, I was wondering about them at the weekend - I thought it was something to do with getting the dampers to sit more vertical than diagonal? Will possibly look into it a little more with the body-off.

One of mine is broken so when I offer the later tuscan wishbones up I will be able to see how much more vertical the shocks can go and I will get some more made up that are longer.
