A date in london...any ideas?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm going on a date in London next Saturday - my first date in about six years - and am looking for interesting things to do during the day. So far on the agenda I have planned to:
Take a flight on the London Eye
Have a drink in Covent Garden
Have a wander around Harrods
The thing is that these are all pretty standard things and are, frankly, a bit boring. So I'm trying to come up with some other options for the day.
I don't want to take the young lady to Madame Tussauds as I hate the place with a passion, and I don't think either of us would get anything out of an Art Gallery...an experience in the Tate Modern last year left me vowing never to return.
So, what date-friendly options are any good?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

EYW

I know you said no art gallerys..
But I'd suggest the saatchi gallery anyway, nice area for a wander about, its free, small and full of silly stuff that you dont have to be interested in art to enjoy looking at IMHO.
Food wise I think dim sum is good for dates, lots of sharing each others food, tend to be sat side by side etc
Harrods will be murder on a saturday, if you want to look at shops i'd go for bond st/ burlington arcade way instead.

The Tate Modern might be interesting - at least with the modern art you don't feel you shoudl appreciate it and can be rude about it if you want. Plus it is a walk along the South Bank from the Eye that could be interspersed with pub/bar/restaurant stops.
Edit: Ok, scratch the Tate Modern bit but the walk isn't bad in decent weather - could visit the Globe...

Failure I think you mean old chap, and yes, I should learn to read...
Unfortunately tedious internet memes are not passed through a rigorous process of grammatical approval. More's the pity. The Thing To Which I Refer, Either In A Preceeding Post Or Contained Within This Mildly Amusing Lolcat-Style Image, Represents A Failure Of Such Magnitude To Be Classified As Epic doesn't quite roll off the keyboard.
I recommend the theatre, in particular War Horse. Amazing and also means you don't have to talk to her for a couple of hours and pretend to find her interesting.
Additionally you will both love it so much that she'll be as good as astride you before you've even left.
Cannot fail*

- This may not be entirely accurate

I'm taking my date tonight cheese tasting; but then I know that she loves cheese.
She doesn't drink though, so I reckon I may not be in there. Damn it.
You have a date after your work trainee fiasco? She doesn't drink though, so I reckon I may not be in there. Damn it.
And I intend to have it stay that way - so I am not disclosing where the cheese tasting is.
