Anyone got experience of using tank traction pads?

Just got a clear one for the Blade, yet to fit it.

Word on the grapevine is they ruin your leathers. No idea if this is true.

I want some for my bike but I can't justify £40 for some rubber.

Had them for a couple of years and found them excellent for the track....not needed too much on the road.

Any damage to your leathers?

Ive yet to do a TD, just wanted to avoid slipping forwards under braking on the road. More grip = less leg pressure needed?

found them to be excellent and would not be without them. helps a huge amount to hold onto the tank

Worth every penny

I have use http://www.techspec-usa.com/ to my track tank and they are not half as good as the stomp grips. I only bought them to see if they were as good. And they are not

get the Stomp grips

Nope, never noticed any damage to my leathers. Make sure you get them on correctly....use a hairdryer!

I fitted some last week, more as tank protection than knee grips. Not ridden since but may get out tomorrow and report back...

Make sure you fit them correctly. I didn't and they fell off....picking up all sorts of grit off the garage floor...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll read the instructions first! Sounds like I'm gonna have to pinch the Mrs hairdryer

I have them and they DID damage my leathers. But I still prefer using them. On my R1, the shape of the tank doesn't fit me properly, so when I push my knee into the stomp grip, it slips. It's this slipping and rubbing that wore through the leather.

On my mates cbr600, my knee doesn't slip, and there is no wear on his leathers.

Sticky side goes towards the bike! hehe

I put some on last year. Stops you slamming your nuts into the tank when on the anchors.

Used them before and rate them - I absolutely hate applying them though... the air bubbles do my head in!

Had them on my R1 and loved them, have them on my Daytona and love them.

A bit more involved than just slapping them on...

OK just tried mine. Effortlessly stay in position on the bike now, feels so much better. All I can say is every bike I have from this date will be fitted with a set.

One question though, how do I get rid of the bloody air bubbles?
