Car sounds pretty good, but the box sounds like it is on its last legs.

Interesting choice of track day machine!

Looks like you had fun! Until the rad hose gave up obviously! Who organised it out of interest? Looks a lot less busy than usual track days!

The gearbox has just had the oil changed...old oil was like dirty water but not burnt! Gearbox is minted...just my mate was too impatient when changing gear!

It was a normal 'hot hatch' day at Knockhill, they have it every month that Knockhill organise.

It was mobbed that day, they had 5 groups of cars but only had around 10 cars per group, They should have had 20 cars per group and had 3 groups so that we had more track time...spoiled it really..if car had worked that is!!

Even as a huge fan of automatic geaboxes, that one just doesn't seem to suit track work.
shifts need firming and speeding up.

Looked fun...till it broke.

I'm interested in using an auto car on a track day (have to drive auto) and have always worried how they'd cope...how have you found it?

You want knockhill misery, trying piloting a Porsche Cup car around there for a whole weekend with force 9 Man-flu!

The only bloody time I want a wet race weekend, at the track where it always rains, a whole fecking week of blazing sunshine and warm weather

My dad gave us the car for free.....so couldnt say no!

The auto box is great...being a semi automatic, we can choose a gear for the next corner and hold the revvs through it. Changed the gearbox oil and filter so should see no problems for a wee while! Don't expect the car to last years, as long as we get the most out of it tbh!!

Knockhill isn't a fast course so should be ok for reliability for a few more meetings...i hope!!

There are many many better cars for track days but my dad insisted he wanted his pride and joy to be enjoyed more. Handles well for a big car, not the fastest but we get fun out of it...at the end of the day, thats what its all about!!!

Cheers fo the comments

Considering the size of the car it gave that Subaru a good run at the beginning...
