so i am cutting up through the back of blackheath past the rapier when suddenly the damn thing springs into life and waps all the way round to point at me and follows me down the road !!!

so either someones snuck a plane transponder on my car or the squaddies are bored ...

i just hope their not live missiles

Is that one of those air-defense installations they have set up all over London to keep the olympics safe from turrists?

I'd hope they have live missiles in them, would be rather useless if not right?

If it's any consolation though, those missiles will only arm when they are a certain distance away from the launcher, so if they do shoot you, you only have to worry about getting hit with 200 lbs of fast moving metal, it wont explode as well

the think that surprised me is on the vids on youtube it moves very leisurely, but boy can that turret shift, 180 spin and an angle adjustment in about 1 second

I've been to a few military trade shows and they set them up to follow people up and down the isles. I'm pretty sure its for their own amusement
