Bloody hell!! eek
I'm amazed the car managed to get that far off the track... scratchchin
That could have caused some serious damage (i.e. fatalities) if there were any spectators there...

Picked the right place to have a big one, though, right next to the ambulance.

Well the thread says he was doing about 95 after what little breaking he managed.

I just wonder if his instincts had said keep it streight if the gravel trap would have worked better. As it was he tried to take the corner, hit it sideways and took off.... Not that he had long to think about what to do.

Glad he walked away.

According to the comments on the youtube clip there was a brake failure. Scary!

So glad he walked away from that. Just think 20 or 30 years ago, he wouldn't have made it.

Entry speed sure is fast - was it brake failure??

Youtube comments talk about brake failure, which sounds about right considering it looks like he went into the corner at least twice as fast as the people who built the safety features had anticipated.

Why on earth did they design that track with the gravel trap at a lower level to the track allowing the car to dig in and flip so easily?
That and whatever was on the inside of the track that cause the M3 to get so much air.

Glad the driver walked away from that crash.

This one gives you a better view of what it's like to come off at that corner and the length of the streight before it...

Dramatic, but not too painful. The car is progressively decelerating with each impact. Much rather that than hitting a tyre wall at speed.
