These guys are trying to make a story out of nothing ..what a joke

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/Audi-Con...

They seem to be confused between a RS2 and RS4 redcard

I also think their 'Autocar Image' utter rubbish .. sticking a design point from a 997 turbo on it .. pah shoot

Well I think Hilton Holloway has been on the beers..drink

The mag has a headline 'Audi plots return of RS2' .... and as for Dan Stevens .. 'The colour is an obvious nod to the RS2 ...' Has he had his head in the sands for the last 10 years

Nothing wrong with the article at all. The RS2 was the only RS audi that Porsche were involved in (RS4 etc are in house audi sport). Article is just infering that Porsche may be involved in another project on the same lines as the RS2 project.

Well , the magazine has and I quote 'The 911 estate is back ..' and then the dribble New Audi RS2 ..
As far as Iam concerned, Porsche will make little difference .. we have the RS4 ... and stating the RS5 will be the next estate .. quote 'Porsche and Audi could create a four-wheel-drive 4.2l V8 Super estate.' To give justification, they create some 4 door saloon mock up picture ...shoot I think Autocar had a bit too many blank pages to fill ..nuts

Sounds just like a marketing plan, nowadays Audi could develop & produce these said cars without the help of the Porsche EASY. Yeah, back in the 90's it was a different story, but now.....com on.

If Audi wanna play the old skool card again maybe hey should do a bit more for parts etc on the older generation of Audi's that got them here in the first place.

Are you sure Rob. Check out Ben's post on S2Forum... wink

Audi completely deny it.

Cheers,

Steve.

I was pointing out to the O/P that the RS4 had nothing to do with Porsche and it was indeed the RS2 that had the involvment from Porsche.

As to the idea of an RS5..? I like! However, having a 5 door RS5 doesn't quite make sense to I reckon thats aload of tosh considering that it would basically be an RS4...

I'll have a read of Bens post. smile

The article seems entirely factual in that Porsche and Audi are going to be working together more in the next few years than they have in the last ten.

However on their dealer only website Audi have been quick to point out to their dealers that there are no plans to build a new model Audi "RS2".

Audi also wanted to point out that the somewhat crude and amateurish computer rendering in the picture is entirely fictional and not related to any particular upcoming model.
