Hi guys got a problem with a LCD warning, it constantly thinks the door is open, now I think this may be linked to the passanger door window and mirror not working. Has anyone got any wire digrams or anything for the doors?

Cheers

Dave

PS is there a way to check oil temp etc whilst this warning is on? I have only had the car a couple of days and want to make sure the oil is at the right temp before giving it any welly. Also would like to be able to check oil pressure as it came up saying it was "0" just before the door warning kicked in.

One press on the right hand side knurled knob behind the steering wheel should do the trick.

Sorry, at a loss then as I thought that with the exception of fluctuating outside temperature and low
fuel this function over-rode the alarms.

ETA: Just read about your window and mirror, without checking wiring diagrams, it could be you've a damp encoder in the mirror itself. Alternatively close the window on the alarm and see what happens.

If you remove the stainless steel cover plate (3 screws) around the striker mechanism, you'll see at the back of the door catch there is a microswitch that detects if the door is closed...try manually pushing the arm on the microswitch and see what happens

PetrolHeadPete is spot on. You will have to encourage the small arm until the warning goes off. Flick the door latch with a screw driver then bend the arm to the correct position.

Ok here are my findings

looks like the passanger door is the problem and looks like the sender unit. The metal strip that pushes the lock out and also closes the switch for the window/door open sensor seems to be broken. Can these be purchased seperatly or do I need a whole unit?

Also any idea on the scew sizes that fit the chrome plate? One seems to be missing

Hmmm, not sure I can help any further. But at least you're onto the root cause. When you say the arm is broken, you mean up inside the latch body itself ? Can't see how that would break, all seems pretty chunky to me.
The screws are self-tappers, not sure what size though

That strip doesn't push the lock open, it is just the contact arm for the microswitch. The whole thing is <£10.

FT.
