Well just read the DR harris comparison of the the GT-R and GT-2 Porsche, and the Porsche takes it.

Harris said the Skyline was a bit of a handful and had traction problems, never heard that before, but maybe thats only on when chucking it round 130 downhill bends. Bit confused by all this really. J

I don't recall Nissan ever saying the GTR was faster than the GT2. Remember, the GT2 set it's ring laptime on a public day when there were other cars about. The GTR had the whole ring to itself and lapped thousands of times previously at the hands of an ex F1 driver.

Has it been discussed in GG already? Must have missed it, though I did run into a lengthy debate about GTR NS times on the Porsche forum.

Who is apparently (according to GTR fans anyway) 15 seconds a lap faster around the NS than Walter Rohrl. Or anyone else on the planet for that matter.

Do you have any details on Rohrl's lap?
I'm talking track conditions and public day etc.

Horst von Saurma was faster than Rohrl in a non-Porsche by 12 seconds. And HvS didn't have nearly the same kind of exposure to that car as Suzuki had with the GT-R.

Shirley, you can't be serious? Don't you know anything? It was the former Ace Cafe in it's day.

I don't know all the deatils sorry. 13 pages of assorted GTR discussion here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Rohrl's best from the GTR was 7:45

Wolfgang Webber did 7:49 (7:46 theoretical combining best sector times) in testing for KW.
