They look best in Lamborghini Yellow, There is only one of those out there, mind..... I think you can find the dimensions on the GTM website. They are about the width of an MGF, as they use the Steering rack, hubs brakes and wheels (sort of!). They are no bigger than an MGF I am sure.

Red ones are fastest, unless you bodge the front end off a Spyder on, then they are disappointingly slow.

Here you are:

and if you are going to spray it - choose your own colour, don't ask a load of half-wits like us for an opinion.

Poor old Roger. Built a decent garage for the Libra, but couldn't afford more than a tent for himself....

Mind you, that's what you CALL priority.

Beware the affect on sunlight on black fibregalss. My black Midas looked really great when I first got it. After a few years it started to develope a surface texture like very fine orange peel. It was not as bad as badly painted cars though. The following gave me a clue to what had happened.

Europa Aircraft wbsite said:
Epoxy resins and foam are all sensitive to high temperatures. Room temperature curing epoxies soften and lose their strength and rigidity at only moderate temperatures -70°C (160°F). The sun is a source of heat, in still air on a hot sunny day it is possible to obtain surface temperatures that approach 105°C (220°F) on a black aircraft. The colour of the surface determines how much solar heat it will absorb. White surfaces absorb very little (10%) of the sun’s heat whilst a black surface absorbing much more (95%) will heat up greatly.
I believe the original prototype Midas had problems when travelling through France due to the heat affecting the bodywork.

Impossible to say.
Depending on your age even 1.4 might be a bit steep on insurance, only you can decide what you can afford. I'd also be VERY careful what you think you can handle with little driving experience. A 1.8 Libra won't suffer fools in the wet......

Because it's a kit car insurance prices vary wildly.

I would suggest ringing Footman James and having a chat to them about it - they will be able to give you a more accurate idea of pricing with various engine combinations, mileage limits etc.

If you are going to have black with graphite wheels I better hurry up and do my GT3 RS style orange bits! I have a spare set of wheels ready to go.

Thanks, I like it. I have been considering the orange bits for some time, I might get round to it this winter.

The engine is a 143 VVC with 52mm throttle body, ITG induction and 4 branch manifold.

By approach to the Col du Turini, do you mean in a Supermarket Car Park hitting a bollard at 1 mph, or do you mean all 4 wheels airborne, a hard landing on a tight left-hander just before the 500ft drop as you were undertaking a local in his group N rallycar ?

Out of interest how did the GTM fair against the Lotus Elises on the trip? I was wondering which is the better car for touring?

I like the looks of both but have only owned a Lotus Exige. Always had a soft spot for the GTM but never really had a good chance to look around one
