Should be fine for another 100k although some suspension components may be tired and need replacing.

130k on a big engine, especially diesel, is nothing!

If it is well serviced and priced accordingly, go for it.

The biggest problem would be resale, people are still terrified of a car with a mileage over 100k.

Bloody hell, it's like I'm stuck in a horrific PH BMW timeloop. I keep reading the same posts over and over on different threads, it feels like I'm going insane. It's either the OP talking about high milage 530d's or it's some bellend trying to be funny by talking about mapped 335d's. And if it's not that then it's sparks87 talking about how he's going to buy an E39 528i.

No wonder some people decide to climb their church belltower and pick people off with M16's, what the fk is wrong with you people?!?

So yeah, sort it out wink

You missed out the one about the BMW that was crashed and SAGA wouldn't pay out because it was registered in someone elses name who pretended it was their fathers..Blah .....blah.

I didn't repeat the same topic over and over again. If I've got a new question I want to ask about the 528, i.e the angel eyes or how it compares to a Alfa 156 I'll make a new topic, so more people read it. I must admit to have mentioned it a few times in other peoples topics, but only when it is appropriate to the discussion. And yeah I'll admit to not doing my homework properly and in the initial stages of me looking for a 5 Series thought that the 523 was in fact a 525- I was going by the size of the engine (2.5 liter).

Buying a car like that when I've never had anything like it before is bound to make me have a few questions to ask, so I asked them and now I know what I need to know. I thought that was what this place was for?

Should have at least another 100k left in the engine, might want to polybush the suspension. Keep it serviced with decent oil.

In answer to the first question - the answers are the same as in the other post - you never know when the car will go bang - it might be fine for another 100k, or it might need a repair to the value of the car (or more) tomorrow. The fact that is has a re-map statistically increases the chances of this.

Oh, and dont forget to tell your insurance company about the mod ;-)
