08 spyder sub 1k miles, for 95k, from a dealer.
Dealer had private seller needing cash, and couldn't take on any more stock so rang me see if I was interested as i'd been to see a few cars, weeks earlier. He has seen the receipt for 154k delivered 3 months ago.
January is going to be fun.

Well speaking to the guy he was saying that between dealers things are much worse. Basically no one is buying. Mid might be sensible, but that means s
t in this market. Back to the days of nice cars being a rarity on the roads and many more people doing with posters rather than the real thing. To be honest, I think it is for the better.

But I think you are right about car sales ... there is certain amount of lag in the economy at the moment and first quarter of next year is going to be very interesting. Just waiting for the lp560's to get to £100k ...

I am, but I think things are going to get much worse. I see LP560's at 100k early next year. Any mass produced car regardless of make is going to get slammed. People are just not going to pay more because it is a Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, what ever. As I said else where, back to the times of Super cars on the walls of bedrooms and only very few actually being bought and driven. Which is good IMO.
Ring up a dealer and ask for a bid on any car, see what his response is. Most are worrying about whether they'll be in business long enough to sell it. Too many people have been living on crazy inflation which has kept prices artificially high. Now, the only thing going to keep prices up is supply and demand. How many people have signed up for a new Lambo this month?

I've put in a letter of intent for the LP640 Sv or SL - whatever it will be called.Ring up a dealer and ask for a bid on any car, see what his response is. But - you are right - things are dire if you are selling - and great if you are buying. There are some amazing bargins to be had right now - Bently GT's fully loaded for £55K (and lower) - Merc CL63 fully loaded for £70K - you can pick up a 599 for £165K - and they continue to reprice.

Yeah, I agree. I think main dealers are in a position to undercut many private sales at the moment. Had a cheeky whisper from one main dealer offering a deal that I couldn't match with any private sale. All dealers will have lots of new stock based on previous years sales numbers, that clearly wont be shifting at retail prices. They are also in a position to offer things that private sellers can't.
I'd like to see Lambo cut production numbers on the LP560 and make it a proper must have car, keeping residuals strong and desirability high.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens to Porsche, 80% of their cars are mass produced tat.

Then you will be pleased to know that Lambo numbers in the UK will be more than halved next year. We are a pretty big dealer but will only get 8 LP560 Coupe next year (3 of which are alreasy sold)!! As for £100k 560? Hard to say but it depends how desperate a private is to get his cash. I cant see dealers selling them at that kind of money.
I think the prospect of cheap LP560's is a little optomistic. The cars which are appearing cheap are ones bought or commited to pre credit crash where owners are having to sell becuase of needing to get funds. The number of LP560's that fall into this time period can only be half a dozen at the most. The only people buying these cars now are ones who can afford them. Why would you buy a car in a credit crunch knowing that you are going to loose a lot of money if you have to sell it quick? If none are being sold new where are all the second hand ones coming from? Old shape Gallardos and F430's are a fifferent arguement completly as there are so many about. It is all about supply and demand.

If the market for lambo's had any strength then this car wouldn't even be up for sale privately. The seller would have obviously tried selling it to a Lambo dealer first or some other specialist car dealership, the fact that he's selling it privately with a loss of £60000 + after covering only 650 miles speaks volumes to how bad it is out there! The only thing holding back 560's being £100k soon is the fact that hardly anyone will be buying them new in the first place!Edited by Chipper on Monday 17th November 19:08
