Have a look at this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7712962.s...

Seems the Labour MP for Ipswich, Chris Mole, has written to the Head of the BBC calling for Clarkson to be sacked!! AS far as I have seen, Clarkson's comments (which I found to be humorous and entertaining...as intended) have not actually offended anyone, but instead generated complaints from people who dislike him and are 'outraged' on behalf of others. To**ers. Personally, I don't like Bill Oddie, so I don't watch his programmes. Maybe I should so that I can then be 'outraged' by his beigeness and complain to the Beeb. I wonder if Mole actually watched the programme? If he was my MP I'd be off to his next surgery to point out that his actions offend me more than Clarkson's. The small minded little wazzock.

For those who miss the significance of Ipswich in all of this, there were a series of horrible prostitute murders there last year. The perpetrator was found, tried and gaoled. He drove a forklift truck.

Lowest common denominator fluffy TV for all please....

BBC doesn't listen to anyone anyway, so the chances of this guy getting anywhere are nil.

I'd say it was just a bit of puffed up self important PR on behalf of the MP to be honest.

That MP needs to spend more time tackling important issues.

the thing is if a stand up comedian made this joke on TV then nobody would bat an eye lid but because a TV presenter (j.clarkson) has said it then there a big thing over it.

its just a joke.

I was at school with Moleykins. I can't reconcile my memory of the spikey haired David Bowie disciple with the Blairite lickspittle he seems to have become since.

No need for a petition! Just a short stroll to the voting booth...

Ross & Brand may have been indulgences that the BBC could afford to lose but Topgear earns the BBC a heck of a lot of money from overseas syndication & DVD sales. Also it's technically done by a production company part owned by Clarkson so the chances of him getting sacked are rather remote no matter how much some whingers complain.

Hows about these feckless MP's we employ deal with the real issues we have in this country instead of jumping on media bandwagons to show their "support" of the common man....

And even if the BBC dump the show (unlikely) another channel would snap it up for a large sum of money almost immediatly.

in my opinion. i think the chances of clarkson being sacked are slim, it would have to be something absolutely outrageous before they'd even attempt to hand him his P45 surely hes got to be near the top of the payroll in the beeb i doubt very much they'd think about sacking him!

On the plus side Ipswich is not the safest, cleanest, most efficently run county council in England, which is nice to know, It must be because there is obviously nothing to fill his days with so therefore he needs to complain about the tv.

Also wast this Steve Wright( I thought I hadn't heard his radio show for a while!) fella a fork lift driver? Now I know he needs glasses but i am pretty certain you should be able to tell the difference between the 2, Either that or the reference is not there and it may as well be the McCains complaining.

I have to admit to not having heard the offending Ross/Brand incident myself, but was less than amused with what I read about it, personal feeling was that Brand was just doing his usual unfunny bit and taking things that bit too far (But then I can't stand him anyway), Ross was probably being Ross and trying to be one of the boys and trying to keep up, but then didn't know where to stop and it just got messy. I felt sorry for Andrew Sachs to be honest, and had to look at it from the perpective that I would not have been amused if something like that had been aimed at me. I think it was more than unfortunate that the Grand-daughter appears to be one of the 'Do anything to get famous' brigade and unfortunately has had a pretty good go at fanning the flames in order to increase her profile, which seems to be working.

With regard to Clarkson, lets face it, every episode he says something which may offend someone, but come on, comedic stereotyping just seems to be his thing, and I've come to expect it. I find it utterly ridiculous that anyone would even bother putting pen to paper about it. Did anyone get upset about the fat stig with one tanned arm? As far as I'm aware, no they didn't. Are all lorryists fat with one tanned arm? I doubt it. Are they all prostitute killers... NO! And I'm pretty sure that everyone is already aware of that, the fact that one or two have been is just a fact that is mildy amusing when put in the right context, it's like saying all MX-5 drivers are hairdressers... (Alright, a large number of them probably are, but it doesn't mean we take it seriously and believe that they ALL are!)

I really do not understand these people who feel the need to write and complain about everything, they need to go out, get a life and stop watching if they don't like it.

If anyone can give me one good, solid reason why Clarkson should be fired for such a comment I'll be bowled over, because it's beyond me how it could have possibly got that many peoples backs up...

IT WAS A JOKE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

Mr Mole

Have you ever heard of something called humour?

It is so profoundly small-minded of you to 'call for the dismissal' of Jeremy Clarkson on the basis of a humorous clip that the vast majority found to be, just that, humorous.

The really funny thing is that you won't be elected next time around - particularly given your voting record:

* You have never voted on a transparent Parliament.
* You voted for introducing ID cards.
* You voted for introducing student top-up fees.
* You voted for Labour's anti-terrorism laws.
* You voted for the Iraq war.
* You voted against investigating the Iraq war.
* You voted for the hunting ban.

You seem to simply blow with the wind - oooh Ross is in the news and we're all disgusted, let's jump on that bandwagon and ban Clarkson.
