Anyone going?

I will be there...should be a hoot, the runway surface is very good quality and the taxiways are in excellent condition. Might even be able to check out some of the military hardware in between laps too...

Do they run many trackdays there? I drive right down the back of RAF Odiham every day to and from work, I knew they did very occasional bike days there which I thought were organised by the RAF themselves, but I didnt know the likes of RMA had got hold of it for use!

Hot news off the press is that they (RMA) are hoping to have 4 track days a year there. I certainly know that 2009 will have 3 track days! 4th is still up for discussion. Great track, likened to Donnington!

Sounds ideal, only 20 minutes from home / 5 minutes from work. Pity it materialises as a venue just as I'm considering selling my track car frown

I might be tempted for one last blast on that Sunday though, will have to check the finances/diary.

Ive not tracked with RMA before, is the £125 the fee for anyone or would I have to pay the (£25?) joining fee as well?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think you'd have to pay the £25 fee as well to become a member before you can use their track days. Even if you sell your track car, you can still bring your 'normal' car to subsequent events. They had a Mini One (1?) going round the track last summer - doing a pretty good job too!

Thanks for the info chaps, will have to see if its do-able. The sale of the BEC is likely to go towards a 1 Series Beemer which wouldnt be a bad track car (as tintops go), but if I was going to do a significany number of trackdays still Id keep the kit car as its so cheap to track compared to a tintop, as well as the additional speed obviously. I think once its sold if I fancy a trackday I'll share one of Johnny's Bat Cats with a mate rather than track the road car.
