Oulton Park Track Day & Drifting course photos - 31-1-09

I was there watching the stuff going on and took some photos. Mainly with the drifting course, but some of the track cars too.

some very good shots but they dont convey the feeling of speed, try slightly longer shutter speed to blur the wheels a bit, depending on the ambient light and the iso its perhaps worth trying speeds of 1/125th or less, these cars aint going so fast after all so you sould be able to keep the main part of the image clear at the same time as blurring the bkground. If you cant go back and take them again the same effects can be acheived (with a little pracice) in photoshop!!

Thanks Nick, to be honest I'm impressed with myself for getting anything . I'll probably be along there again next week for a bikes track day, and I'll try things out with longer shutter speeds. It was a very grey dull day on Saturday, and it was also very very cold!!!

I don't suppose you got any pics of MX-5s on track?

Not on the track, there was a dark MX5 with a white hard top on the drift course.
