PHers, we are in an unprecedented crisis. Even the richest, most removed from society among us must have noticed that trillions of dollars are plunging from the markets. The global economy is plummeting by the minute. People with jobs are worried.

We need to get together and stop this global financial crisis.

I propose a twofold plan.

1) Buy stuff.
2) Tell other people there is actually no crisis.

I shall start the ball rolling today and am about to purchase a magnificent indoor remote control helicopter! I may also buy an iphone to help the Dow recover.

I expect I will continue the fight back later by announcing loudly at work that "Things are on the up" or something else equally positive.

What are other PHers going to do to help? If we could buy a helicopter for that to$$er Hammond I'm sure we can sort this mess out.

hehe

I'll buy myself lots of booze at the monthly drinks, all part of my 'help a landlord' appeal.

Great idea.
This weekend I promise to buy a power tool that I don't need.
And I am going to run outside shouting-great news-the worst has past.

Oh and a we. Thats it. Perhaps two if they're ugly.

I'll buy the missus a new dress at M&S this weekend.

Will have double effect: firstly, I'll help to save Britain's favourite High St giant; secondly, Mrs V8 will thank me in the appropriate way later that day.

Everyone's a winner! thumbup

Make sure you don't get it a size too large otherwise all you'll get that day is a black eye and cold/no dinner.

I spaffed a few hundred up the wall over the weekend on flights and a hotel for my February "get out of the UK - it's miserable" holiday/sgfest.

With all the shoes my missus buys, I struggle to comprehend that there could even be the remotest sign of a down-turn.

I've just ordered some books that I absolutely no intention of ever reading.

That has the added bonus that the Brazilian rain forest economy gains also.

Daughter getting married next year - insists on a full-on church do eek with reception yikes which should help Gordy's coffers.

Wife is contemplating purchasing her THIRD hat for the wedding. Obviously she can only wear one but deciding which should keep her occupied for many hours spin

Must be a male-only recession.
