Sanctuary For All starts tonight on ITV4. 9pm. Stars Amanda Tapping (Stargate's Samantha Carter)

The series may or may not be any good but it has had an interesting genesis at least. It was originally made as a series of eight 20 minute "webisodes" by a "skunk project" team and distributed over the 'net. It's made by a group of Stargate/Vancouver regulars out to do something for themselves.

It was an interesting approach. The eight webisodes were considered a "Pilot" and they planned to make a full blown series with 'net distribution.

Well another aim was clearly to sell the idea to the more traditional media and it worked. SciFi channel picked up the series and it's to be a regular TV show. Shows on ITV4 here.

I watched the webisodes which were fun. If you are a sci-fi fan it might be worth giving the TV series a try.

Oooh, where's the Sky+ control? That looks worth a try.

If anyone is interested in the original webisodes... ahem... I suspect that the Scandinavian Bay of Pirates may well have a torrential reference to same...

Its meant to be very good. Its also the first TV show shot on some revolutionary new camera.

confused Really?

I know it's filmed "green screen" and the entire background, all of it, is computer generated. The only live action is the people and the costumes.

They did that for the webisodes partly for reasons of cost (it's cheaper than flying the cast out to remote locations) and also "look" - in that you can have backgrounds/situations/scenes that would not be filmable conventionally.

The CGI in the webisodes was very good. It will be interesting to see if they continue to be as good now it's a conventional TV show.

You could tell some of it was green screen but other than that it wasn't too bad. Amanda Tapping's comedy british accent made me laugh tho.
