Am currently watching itv so called coverage of the Chinese gp.From the off it was clear that it should be renamed the Lewis supporters club.Lets hope for some impartial coverage from BBC next year.
As has been said on other GP threads, it is a UK broadcaster, discussing a UK driver. The BBC would not have done it any differently.

I agree but come on. how often do we get a good F1 driver
We have far more than most, didnt notice a great deal of support for Davidson......but lots for the over hyped hamiltonAs said, the BBC will be much the same. Hopefully they'll tone it down a little.

Don't ITV receive the pictures from the local TV company covering the race?Bernie-the-bolt said:

If it was a matter of life or death, I *could* back my claim up with comments from the people who actually produce these programmes.
Go on then
As it stands, I am hardly going to waste the time of colleagues, and "call in favours" to satisfy an internet argument.
Having had this actual discussion with a high profile BBC sports presenter, and a news editor at the beginning of this GP season, I can hand on heart say that I beleive that the BBC would have hyped Hamilton just as much as ITV did.

Surely you remember Murray Walker he was the best and he always supported home grown talent to the hilt.
I was shocked during discussions down the pub that so may people wanted lewis to fail
what is the matter with the British public
so Lewis has an Ego, so what, he is the best driver currently by far and deserves the world championship
he is up there with the greats.

Very well said! So none of us would want to drink down the pub with Lewis, but that's not the point. He is one of a rare breed who can actually make F1 interesting. His "aggressive", non-contact overtaking manoevres are exactly what I, as a spectator want. Lewis has shown in a number races (eg Hockenheim) that he can not only win, but win on the track, and that is what racing is all about. Though Schumacher was undoubtedly a great driver, I sat through many of his races won only through either winning from pole, or carefully orchestrated pit strategy, when I may as well have watched paint dry. If "arrogance" and "agressive driving" is what it takes to make a race interesting, then bring it on. I just wish there were another 19 drivers out there with equal arrogance. he is up there with the greats.
