Has anyone else seen the Veyron thats been in Knightsbridge over the past or so month?

Spotted it twice now, even managed to take a couple of (bad) pics one night (how do I post?).

The area is a car spotters dream at the moment, what with all the Arabs coming over for summer. Within 10mins of seeing the Veyron (orange on black) also saw an SLR (grey), SL65 (dark red), Murci (orange +black wheels), Gallardo Spyder (lime green), Continental GT (bright red) and DB9 (white)...

Shame the poor things (the cars I mean) must get trashed doing 100m sprints from one light to the other and then sitting in queues for ages...

I must have seen 25 Ferraris in an evening strolling round Knightsbridge and Sloane Street a couple of weeks ago. I spotted that white DB9 and a white BMW M6, not to mention the Bahrain plated 997 Turbo and a host of Lambos to boot

If your a car spotter you can just find a place to sit around there with a good view and a camera and you can spot heaps of luxury cars.

Whats that color combo red and black or maybe orange and black? (hard to tell with the lighting)

Its orange, quite bright in real life (crappy camera phone...!). Wouldn't say its my favourite colour combo...

Also saw a Bentley Flying Spur in black with the sides in a similar orange (+ totally blacked out windows and licence plate 666, it looked mean!), wonder if its a religious good luck thing? Or maybe same owner.

Same owner I would imagine or at least the same family owned. Certain stand out plates like '1', '2', '666' etc will be owned by a certain family. They will then have a number of cars displaying that number on the plates, but with different Arabic characters on the plate. Easily recognisable as the same owners though

I've seen loads of the middle east registered car over the last 2 weeks, however my favourite has to be the white murcielago convertible with black wheels, gorgeous!.

on a different note, I would love to buy/borrow one of the arab cars and go through a speed camera at wholly indecent speeds. Would be nice to see the boys in blue trying to make heads or tails of the number plates.. "errr that looks like a squiggly line - must be a 3"

Indeed! Apparently they are immune to fines (and presumably towing/clamping) because the warden's system does not allow for arabic characters. I assume the same would apply for congestion charging... Sweet!

I might have known it would be Knightsbridge. There is a certain type of person who buys the most expensive car available and only ever drives it through traffic to Knightsbridge and then makes a performance out of parking an dgetting out of the car in order to get noticed. I'll bet it's never been over 50 mph.

I think I can see a very tasty Skoda Fabia in the background! Much more practical and hugely faster in the lanes!

This is the latest toy of the Arab Sheik who spends at least six months of the year living in one of Knightsbridge's top hotels.
Amongst his other playthings are a red Enzo, a Merc SLR plus a few luxobarges (Arnage, Phantom etc)
Back in the Middle East, he regularly uses these cars in the Arab Drag Racing events, which seem to be an amusing passtime for them.
There is a video on the net somewhere, where he is racing his Enzo and SLR on a desert drag strip. I can't find it at the mo. Someone will post it, I'm sure.

It's certainly supercar season in London, agreed mostly in Chelsea/ Knightsbridge. This weekend saw black SLR (looking very discreet), Zonda, Murcielago x 2, and too many F430's and Turbos to count/ bother talking about. No Veyron though- i'll certainly be looking for it.

Summer weekday afternoon/evenings seem the best from what I have seen so far. Pitch up at Cafe Rouge behind Harrods around 7pm and watch the moveable car show!
