Its tragic, however the tit who stated that a 21 year old should not be in control of such a car should take his opinions and shove them.

For a start there is nothing in the article to state the accident was even her fault.

And I know yonger people in more powerful cars that are perfectly safe drivers.

I was one for a start.

I find it hard to believe some of the things that are being posted on this thread considering....

Let's keep the statements about the driving, the cause, and the subjective maturity of the driver out of this thread, please. Afterall - we don't even know which car was on the wrong side of the road.

It's very sad news to hear, and musings such as these do nobody any good at all.

keep your name calling to yourself. all i've said is that IN MY OPINION the vast majority of people of that age should not be in charge of such a vehicle without at least some advanced driving tuition.

this is based on a very good friend of mine buying his son, to whom i was godfather, an M3 for his 21st birthday. we buried him 3 weeks later as result.

the last thing i want to do is deflect from the tragedy of the loss of this girls life & turn this thread into an argument but i have formed my opinion on the matter, which wont change, through having had first hand knowledge of a very similar situation. i wont comment again on this thread.

By all means debate the merit of young drivers of supercars - in a seperate thread - but let's not taint the sad news of a petrolhead's death in this thread with an argument.

Agreed. For all we know it may not even have been her car. She could have been delivering one, renting one, it could be her dad's car etc etc etc.

I was intrigued as to the age of her car, as the injuries don't seem consistent with a modern supercar.

Its certainly a sad thread. More sad to me is how people seem intent on making a thread like this all about them and their arguements.....

Gotta say though, head on collision, any speed above 30mph, regardless of safety features injury seems consistent with possible outcome :-( New car or not.

This is not the place to discuss this. Last year when I was 21 I drove a couple of supercars, I could handle them. I also know someone who bought a tuned skyline when he was 35 within 2 weeks he was in hospital. And now he is in a wheelchair. It would of made difference of age it is the person.

My regards to the family of the girl's family.

Yes I second that.

I think the persons maturity has a great deal to do with it, at the end of the day a 21 year old with 4 years driving experience could be completely safe, however a 50year old who only passed when they were 49 prob wouldn't!

Its a sad thing choose what.

That is a little worrying, surely a modern Lambo is stronger/has better occupant safety from pretty much any angle??

Anyone know what lamborghini it was?

Poor girl, RIP.

Little bit on information here on East Midlands local teletext.

It was the wife of one of the directors of Boston United - he is also one of their main sponsors and runs a recruitment company.

Report just says yellow Lambo - doesn't mention model (not surprisingly). RIP

That's the only thing mentioned on the local news other than what had already been reported. The local paper is out in the morning at that will I guess be headlines. Its getting more coverage than the Jet that went down over the wash around 10 days ago, mentioned on National radio (reported by Reuters I believe) than never reported on again, must have been a Euro Fighter.....

HI
Its the yellow Galordo that I`ve seen around Boston on a very regular basis then, a 2006 model I belive. The owner is in deed involved In Boston United. I need to go back through my posts, I think I may have said something very unkind about him..

Have to say that I'm surprised by the amount of deformation of the passenger cell of the Lambo in relation to the damage suffered by the Fiesta. I wonder if the Lambo hit something else first?
