We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Abolish all
'traffic calming' measures in order to reduce traffic
congestion throughout the Nation's road system.

Congestion is made artificially high by the infliction of
'traffic calming' measures. The removal of bus lanes, chicanes,
speed humps and pinch-points along with sensible timing of
traffic lights would reduce congestion levels and allow the
free flow of traffic throughout our road system and remove the
need for congestion charging and road pricing as well as
reducing exhaust emissions in congestion black-spots.

Come on folks - Do your stuff!

May they all end up with back problems, piles or some other such ailment made worse by speed bumps!

Signed, and this one as well.

I'll sign. They're employing people full time to look at ways of "improving" our roads so it's no wonder there are more and more crappy schemes popping up all the time for no real reason.

Good stuff. (The Petition.) As idiotic as the people appear who create congestion in the name of traffic "calming", I'm convinced most of them know exactly what they're doing - they know full well they're creating congestion, which is their main intention. Then, once we're all beaten into submission, angry and generally muddle-headed about the whole thing of driving, we'll be all nice and softened-up to accept "congestion charging" / constant monitoring of our every movement by way of a "solution".

Blimey, an actual proper petition, with purpose and based on fact, that must make at least two real ones on the full list now.

Signed.

If only a few thousand sign the 85 mph one,
that's pretty much stopped any chance of
any sanity on UK motorways.

It's only the lunatic fringe who want to
kill our children by driving at 85 mph,
you see.
