Apparently, chef says that it is correct that the red grapes with my cheese and biscuits are served frozen. I did not realise this. I've always enjoyed eating the grapes with cheese and biscuits as opposed to just laugh at the noise they make when they bounce on the plate. I felt a bit of a chump mentioning it to the waitress, although in her defence her response was "yes I thought it was a bit strange too when chef told me they are supposed to be like that".

So can someone please educate me as to why it is the correct way to serve them? Are you supposed to eat them frozen? Or are they just decoration?

Never heard of frozen grapes being served with cheese before; I certainly don't think it's the norm.

They were probably left at the back of the fridge.

Funnily enough that's exactly what I said. Oh how I laughed when I suggested they might need to turn their fridge down a bit as I made chimes with them chinking off the plate. Oh what a chump I felt with the "no sir actually they are supposed to be served frozen". silly

Really? I mean, REALLY?

I've been to many resturants and I think everytime I've order cheese and biscuits, the grapes come frozen.

I believe it comes from italy.

Not 100% though.

They do benefit from being semi frozen but shouldn't be like marbles. Try frozen red grapes with grappa and dark chocolate.
