Hi guys and gals, just put a deposit down on a 2003 Cooper S JC Works, which hopefully pick up this week. It is the missus car and we tried a modern convertible mini yesterday and realised how wallowy and gutless they were. Tested this at a local sales place and the missus said yes. It has all leather, currently no creaky panoramic roof, satnav etc etc. One quick question, I need to change the rear lights, as has unpleasant aftermarket ones, can I fit any of the mini range of standard lights in the holes?
Cheers

I believe any lights will fit. Body shape is exactly the same.

Facelift lights would be my choice.

Cheers for the reply. I will have a look as I am unsure if it has reversing lights in them or the bumper. I hopefully collect it later today. if the service doesnt pick up anything at Mini. Just the Lexus style lights dont suit it IMO. Hopefully get a piccie up soon .

Well, we collected it last night and seems a great little car. We havent been far in it yet, but the missus is happy, so thats the main thing. I have ordered some new old stock lights from a Mini dealer at £20 each LOL, so should be with us by the weekend and then hopefully I can ebay the old lights and any luck come out nearly evens. Insurance from a group 2 fiesta to the Works was laughable. I have 6 months left on my policy and only made £51 difference. I am getting old ...........
So, jobs to do
1/ clean it, as although serviced and washed at Mini yesterday, still needs a 'proper' clean.
2/ Take a piccie for here
3/ Drive it

The car where it was on sale, the guy said he had 3 other people pop in yesterday asking where it was. It does have some unusual alloys on it and the darken windows make it look quite funky. A mate who also has a Cooper S doesnt reccognise the wheels, so perhaps someone may be able to say what they are , when I put a piccie up , maybe later tonight.

Piccie time after spending a couple of evenings cleaning the car.

Just want to paint the rusty calipers and change the front pads this weekend and clean the inside out, which is cleanish, but want to feed the leather and scrub to what I call clean.
