Just thought I'd post this here, I ride with them very now and again, and I think a few people from here ride out that way, a few things to take on board, ID at all times being one of them!

Fair play to the CPR guy.

Today?

I imagine they had a group in the main event as it's a big club.

Sad indeed, just good to see someone saved anothers life!

I live on Box Hill and see this all the time.

The scratches on the left-hand side of my car will attest to the number of times I've had to dive for the hedge to avoid crazy downhillers on the Zig Zag (often three abreast) coming straight at me.

Yet no doubt it would be my fault (since 2 wheels good; 4 wheels bad) if I were unable to get out of the way in time and hit one.

tts.

Cyclists should a. be more considerate; b. have some regard for their own safety.

I use one of these: http://www.icetags.co.uk/ to appease the OH's worries when I'm out running.

No generalisation. I see this type of behaviour every day.

If you'd like to witness it for yourself, tea is served at Schloss MC at 3pm.

RSVP.

Whilst I can't know the specifics of this incident. I have to say that a lot of bike riders leave a lot to be desired in their ability to control their machine. Particularly when decending at speed and in terms of risk avoidance/minimisation. And if you live in that part o Surrey, you probably see more than your fair share of numpties.

I took part in the Caledonia Etape on Sunday and was minutes behind a nasty incident probably 50 miles in.

Again I didn’t see what happened on the Etape or know the cause on the linked incident but for me reiterates the dangers we sometimes put ourselves at in not thinking what a 35 mph fall may do to us and also the need to go on a CPR course as I truly wouldn’t have known what to do if I was by myself.

I hope the cyclist makes a full recovery, it's never good when this happens.

I always try to ride conservatively, but you can never predict everything.

When you're on a bike, only pedestrians are lower in the food chain. If you're involved in a collision with anything else, the cyclist will invariably lose, regardless of who is at fault.

(I'm not assuming anything about the mentioned accident.)

The cyclist may have the physical injuries, but the car driver has will undoubtedly have thoughts like "If only I had remembered to clean my teeth this morning, I wouldn't have been on the road then" for a long time.

Too right!

They're all tts! ALL of them. Every single person that cycles is exactly the same. FFS OMFG! etc

Why do you keep coming on cycling threads and moan about people riding bikes? It's a bit creepy really. Do you go into other forums on PHs and bh about their hobbies/sports/pastimes too?
