Where abouts on the south coast are you looking and when you looking to go? If Cornwall isn't too far i may be able to help.

Hiya. thanks. Cornwall is a possibility, but a bit further than anticipated. I'm not sure how long will be fair on him (5 months old) in the car. We are Reading based and the longest journey so far was Southampton.

The wiki sounds good.

Not a cottage but we found this gem near Perranporth with excellent walks (and a private hot tub)

we went to Cornwall from Manchester last summer with our 8 months old GSD in the car.... as long as you stop every couple hours or so, let him drink, stretch his legs, go the toilet, it was relatively painless

Would be great to have more recommended places, by type and region smile

You can search for dog-friendly cottages at www.welcomecottages.com - it's pretty good because you can search anywhere in the country.

Both highly recommended for holidays with your dog, and without!!

I'll add it for you,

I wonder if a mod would make that wiki thread a sticky now?

My in-laws are staying here this week, with their 2 mutts:

We camped nearby and it's a lovely area (dorset, just west of Weymouth - so not too far for you).
