Schuberth S1 here, a lot quieter than my Arai, and much better quality to boot

Only bought the Arai for trackdays as it has an ACU gold sticker

Got the schuberth s2 today.

It hurts my ears putting it on however once on and my ears are in place it seems okay. I haven't worn it on the bike yet but already detect a noticeable improvement in quietness. For some reason I can't get it on with my balaclava (the thin material type).

Removing it is a pain though. I really hope this loosens up otherwise its 400 quid down the drain and back to arai.

Ive stopped using the agv k3, its the loudest helmet I have worn.

Best was an ogk ff3 I had years ago.
Agv gp pro not bad either.

Agv Stealth went in the bin after 1 ride.

Hjc fg15 is ok, nothing more, just steams up all the time, even on a warm day.

Going shopping on saturday for something else.

Had some acoustic foam lying around and I've just 'modified' my XR1000 behind the cheek pads like in one of the suggestions. Seems quite tight to get on but I'll report back on noise levels after my next ride.
I think all mid to top end helmets should ship with a few extra sizes of pads, it wouldnt cost much to be able to get a perfect fit

I use a Shark Evoline 3 most of the time, as its so convenient. Its noisy though, lack of chin curtain due to chin bar mechanism...I wear plugs anyway

noisy compared to a few year old Shark RSR Carbon, with chin curtain, different cheek pads, real plush liner...closer fitting, much quieter....still need plugs though for longer high speed travel...like motorway speeds for a few hours......

Just ridden with the schuberth s2 without plugs (to test) and my ears aren't ringing like they would be with my arai. It feels a lot better aerodynamically speaking, lighter, almost like it cuts through the air. Still a chore putting it on and taking it off but its early days I guess.

Not sure if this still works, the code for 10% off schuberth at sportsbikeshop is "BIKER".

I have the S2 and it's light years ahead of my old Arai. You'll find that getting the lid on and off gets easier as it loosens off. If you go for the bluetooth kit then that's even tighter but it too has loosened and the quality if superb.

I've been meaning to do a write-up on it as I've been impressed so far.

Interesting read. Got an AGV K4 at the moment, and it's friggin' noisy. First lid, so canna really compare it with much. But I can't hear my Fazer for wind noise once I get over 50 mph. Wear ear plugs for even the shortest of rides.

I don't know how easy they are to source but that would be a great idea. Most helmets only come in a couple of different shell sizes with the rest all being in the internal padding so it should be fairly cheap/easy to have it modular.

If you get your Arai fitted by an Arai dealer, they will do this for you FOC.

Rather than spend hundreds on a helmet that is no way guaranteed to work, I bought DIY mouldable ear plugs and bingo!

(even though I originally resurrected this thread...)
