This is a heads up for every enthusiast in Scotland. This morning my dad woke me up early to tell me his Mx5 had been broken into. They took the stereo, but closer investigation when the police came shows the scum tried to steal the car itself.

Who would try to steal an Mx5 some may ask?

The thing is, that when the police came, they found it odd that someone would try to steal such a common car from an area with so few escape routes. When I explained that the Chimaera had been sitting outside last week they reckoned we had been targeted for Chimaera removal. Luckily it wasn't here at the time.

Just a heads up boys and girls, check ur security, cos the scum DO want your cars!!!

Was the Chimaera garaged, driveway, or roadside?

(Also, what area? - without giving too much detail if worried...)

North west of Glasgow... I had the Chimaera on my drive last week, looks like someone saw it and thought they'd have a go. It wasn't here, so they tried the maz instead.

Don't want to say much in case the scum read this but maybe consider the inertia switch as an option.

If anyone doesn't know what I mean. Feel free to email and I'll explain.

Kenny, tried to email you via PH, but it says your email address is invalid. You couldn't be a bit more specific on location could you? I live in bishopbriggs - anywhere near? or further west towards partick etc?

kenny, got it - thanks! Close enough to be thought provoking! Even more paranoid about the car now!

Yeah, very thought provoking. We're taking it as a wake up call as things could have been a LOT worse. Going to improve the security and hopefully future problems will be minimised.
