After an unfortunate end to my last Clio172 cup, I bought a new one and as most of the good bits survived they are now gone this car! cool

I took a four of my cars to Bedford last saturday and my brother in law ended up driving my Clio home. He LOVES it now and as a thanks for letting him hammer it on track he gave it a clean and took some shots of it for me.
Thought I would share!

Was alot of fun having so much to choose from and play with on a lovely day at my fav track!

1000bhp between these 2! Both have mad Cosworth turbo engines

And the Clio. thanks to bro in law for some cool shots!

Here is a video of Clio on track

Was great fun last friday night. Thats my uncle driving my Exige in front smile

On friday I remembered just how much I LOVE the Clio. It was honestly more fun for me than the ExigeS on track. Just loved driving it!

This was a good little play I had in the Lotus though with a similar car on friday night before jumping in Clio

and this was a video playing in my Donkey with a mate in his scooby and another friends new 420bhp Audi turbo powered Exige the previous saturday. apologies for the MASSIVE ERROR WITH CAMERA PLACEMENT! whooopsy! mirror is badly in way. Exige has BIG moment on a fast bend near the end

Tis a nice collection of cars. Some serious kerb useage and corner cutting go on in the videos and I am amazed you didn't get in trouble for that overtake of the M6 in the Lotus!

Its got ALOT of character. I also love the little thing. I also have a 996turbo and an E46 M3. They are behind the Clio on the 'love' list!

Clio has around 200bhp. It runs ATPower Throttle bodies and omex ecu, and puts the power down through a Gripper plated LSD. Runs 4 pot wilwoods and AST suspension. Loads of other little tweaks. Its looked after and prepared by Mark Fish motorsport in harlow. The man is a GENIUS. Having him set a Clio up TOTALLY transforms them!

Lovely 172, looks absolutely fantastic. I also have one, a little more standard than yours, and its great fun!

Bought it as a daily and now its heading in a more track oriented direction.

Have you changed the camber from standard, having mine adjusted next week and wondering whether or not to fit camber bolts.

My last one ran camber bolts at rear. This one doesn't. Its very stable and predictable as it is. Apparently more rear camber would make it twitchy at rear?

All I know is it handles amazingly. The biggest change to the whole car was the spring rates. Mark spec'd the suspension with what I considered VERY high poundage rear springs... I was very surprised but by god it works!

It will ultimately understeer, but ALOT of people of all abilities (friends and family etc) drive the car on track... so its the safest set up really.

Thats whats excellent about the clio.. if it does get out of shape, you can just let off and it normally sorts itself out again..

Ah ok, have got camber bolts on order and was thinking of getting a few degrees on the front wheels. Guess it depends how far out it is at the moment. I may just adjust the front and leave the rear alone and see how that go's.

Thanks for the first hand feed back, has helped with how i will have mine set up.

Agree with what you said about safest setup, from the video its immense through the corners!

Really? I watched the first ~3 minutes or so and he didn't take more than a couple of corners without cutting them or running wide on the exit or both.

Very nice collection of cars you have there though.

Hiya Porkie, I was at Bedford last Friday. I was the young lad who asked about your brakes and you said, "I dunno, i only drive it!" :P

What happened to your last 'cup..?

Good question!

Not alot in it actually as a guess. Not ever timed either.

Would come down to tyres. My Exige is on R888's and the Ferrari just on std road rubber.

On the same rubber, the Ferrari would be quicker I think.

Tell you what does happen with the Fez that I was never expecting. Brake fade... on massive Carbon Ceramic discs. It MUST be boiling the fluid... VERY VERY annoying. Fluid was one week old as well. Annoying. The Exige has the optional AP 4 pots and are simply the best I have ever used.

Interesting to hear, Blues on here who's not too long had his F430 had similar brake issues, I think they mainly sorted it by bleeding them again but I guess replacing for higher spec fluid might be the way forward.

So I'm guessing currently the Ferrari wins on noise and the Exige wins on chucking into corners?
