A lot of people run non-runflats. If you look up the subject on the forum you will find a lot on theis topic.

Cheers for the responses guys, Managed to get the search to work in the end !

Do you all still run 195x55x16 as I couldnt work out if most people go wider with a lower profile ie 205x50x16 ?

Hi, I'm running toyo proxes T1Rs too, same size as you 195:55:16. They are ridiculously grippy in the dry and the wet, full throttle in the wet on a poor road surface and no wheel spin. Cornering grip is fantastic. Totally different league to the RFTs it came on.

Side walls are soft though, so the first time you corner hard you'll get a bit more body roll, you get used to it quickly. Smooth supple and grippy.

I hoon about quite a bit and they havn't lasted too long due to the soft compound, but for the price I don't think that's bad.

Got Goodyear Eagle F1's on my wifes Cooper. About to replace all 4 as they've worn out and will probably get the same again. Great tyre and a huge improvement over the RFTs.

My OH's Mini One has the 17" alloys off the convertable model with 205/45 tyres, she got quoted £100 + VAT for Pirelli non run flats and £50 + VAT for 'budget' (she didn't find out what this make was rolleyes ). One of the run flats keeps going down (but of course doesn't look flat so she keeps driving it without pumping it up banghead ) so it has started to look cracked on the edge. Do these prices seem reasonable as I'm out of touch having not paid for tyres for years due to a company car and my RS hasn't been anywhere for years to wear it's own tyres out...

Once the RF's on my S wear out they'll be getting replaced with non-runflats,i hate them, and especially as they are low profiles,a really hard ride.

They seem about right for garage prices but try online Ive used eventmobile quite a few times, they will come to home, work or track to replace tyres. Were very carefull with the alloys etc. Also try blackcircles and camskill all seem to get good reviews.

I've just replaced my runflat Pirellis with Continental Contact Sport 3s, the ride is much improved, they seem quieter and there seems to be a lot more feedback from them even without really pushing them.

Cooper S 205/45/17 btw
