AFAIK for older members it's still free. Last stuff I advertised at the end of last year certainly was.

Was free for me a few months back, and I've just clicked into submit an ad and it still looks free.

If you are on pay per post you also get commission on whatever you sell. Nevermind having to pay for the ad!

No...have to pay now furious

The begining of the end of PH???

When will they try subscription costs to post? furious

And why move this to a backwater? So nobody realises they've changed the goalposts no doubt!

As far as I know the classifieds are still free for old timers!
Surley website feedback is the right place for the thread?
I'm sure mods will answer both points?

OK just checked, it's still free for me, though whoever wrote the copy and managed the revised layout could do with getting it reworked - it's confusing as hell.

Jenx: I'm guessing you got to the edit advert page - the one right at the end of the submission process where it says it'll be £16 for (x) days and has 'OK, we're nearly there' or something as the title. At the bottom of that page, it gives old members like us the 'submit advert to PH for free' button - costs nothing, obviously, despite the implication that you're about to be charged for it in the initial paragraphs.

It's been moved to the backwater because it's giving website feedback, oddly enough. Chill out smile

FWIW, I'd really suggest PH invest in a decent copywriter for those pages - it's very amateurish and confusing - I appreciate you don't want to openly shout that long termers get it free so as to keep the paying punters happy, but there's far better ways of addressing that. Happy to assist FOC, as it's utterly crap as it is now.

Jenx - you definitely qualify for a free ad, and you always will. Let me know if you'd like me to remind you of your forum account email address, but you need to sign in with this and it'll work.

Glad you got it sorted, and thanks for the other suggestions on copy. We know that it needs tidying up...

Jenx - have no fear about being asked to pay for a subscription to the forums. This will never happen. The classifieds pricing thing is specifically designed to reward long standing members - the antidote to new customers only, if you like.

Is the free ads for old members no longer available?

How come the 'sell' section asks you to login again?

Thanks all!

Thanks smile

I did sell a car on PH before, but that was in the free days.

You will need to register an account with your forum name and email address to receive your free adverts. Both the username and email address on the classifieds system must match. From what I can see, you have no classifieds account yet.

Thanks. It was probably about 6 years ago, and I think my forum name has changed once since then.
