A friend of mine has been in a job for 10 months. The probation period was 6 months and she has not been told if she passed or not.

Now she wants to leave and is looking to find out if she will be required to give 1 months notice (based on passing probation) or just 1 weeks notice.

Apparently the contract says that the first 6 months will be used as probation and noting about having conformation of passing.

I told her she would have to give 1 months notice and will get 1 months money.. is that right?

Sounds about right. One month is hardly that much of a hardship, but it's best to just ask HR whether she's passed probation.

Circumstantial evidence suggests she passed probation successfully. Lax management practice accounts for the failure to communicate this formally.
