After some ideas guys.

I run an expat centric IFA in Luxembourg. We are all qualified advisers, or portfolio managers and operate, I guess on the rung below the Private Banking sector but strive for the level of service offered there - actually, in truth we beat it compared to the local banks here, but that is another story.

We have a vacancy in our office at the bottom of the ladder for a sales role. It does come with an existing client bank of around 200, but it will be hard graft as we want to expand and this is for the person making first contact to a lead. However, to go with that the returns can, and have been, excellent for the right person (the guy who is leaving to return to the valleys netted over 50k last year, and wasn't exactly stretching himself at times).

We need someone native English speaking and we engaged a UK based recruitment agent who has turned up nothing. He has the job listed in what I see as the right places (Monster, Trade papers, Websites etc), just not getting any success, and those that have contacted have been, to be frank, dire!

The job is ideal for a recent graduate, and if the Financial Services arena is what they want to get into we have seen people leave this role to go onto be Junior Traders, IFA's (both in house and with other companies), Fund Company employees of vaying types, etc.

So where should I be pitching this job? Any ideas/contacts I should try?

It's a difficult one but sounds like it would be a great job for someone.

My first thought thought might be that to go and live in Luxembourg and deal with presumably quite wealthy private clients might require a level of maturity you will struggle to find in raw graduates.

I'd be looking to target other companies who serve a similar market (high end car dealerships? Life insurance?) and work back from there find someone who wants to move to Luxembourg.

Best of luck.

I used to work in a similar sector offshore, if you would like to give me your email address, I can put you in touch with someone whom might be interested.

Cheers,

Mike

MrSpike - just PM me and we can start the dialogue if easier?

Work email - david.mcnally@fundadvisers.com

The job has some real benefits going with it.

We are a small company with a good record at staff retention for this sector from what I have seen.
