I finally have a week off to lift the body on the S2 and I'm having trouble finding the last two bolts that are supposed to be under the radio? I have removed the radio cage and still can't find them, are they in the top or the side? I'm assuming that they are always there and it's not a case that mine does not have them? If someone can point me in the right direction I would be really grateful. Then comes the moment of truth on the chassis when the body is lifted, so far it looks OK so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Cheers Steve

I don't think those are fitted in the S1 and S2.

Hi thanks for that, it is difficult to work out where that position is in relation to an S2 dash, do those bolts screw into the cross member directly in front of the gear stick or into the one in front of that which seems to be under the heater?

Thank you, that explains why I can't find them. I hope to lift the body tomorrow so a little apprehensive.

My S2 does not have the underdash bolts, but when I lifted the body , the threaded blocks were already on the chassis. Date of manufacture April / May 1990, so obviously a running change to the chassis prior to the S3 introduction. Similarly my trailing arms are an odd pair being both adjustable but with different damper mounting positions to the S3 variety. smile

The body is off and apart from some surface rust which seems to wire brush off there no holes in the chassis or trailing arms. Now the hard work starts with the wire brush and wet & Dry. At least I can sleep tonight without the worry of any welding. So just the clutch slave cylinder, the clutch, the manifolds................does it ever end?
