I'm guessing at the flashback 7 year old Ned.

I was thinking of Damphair but could be Euron just as easily. If only one would feature I suspect Euron is more important to the plot

Realistically speaking it's Euron or Randyll. Randyll had the older age bracket, but my personal preference is that he fits the character of Euron better...though it's not difficult to see him as Sam's stty father.

Ohhh he'd make a great Randall too biggrin

In fact, as it's only a 'light' role that's more likely perhaps; or that could just be to throw us off the scent laugh

I'm just so excited he's been cast bounce

Sorry, a bit off topic but is Ian McShane the youngest looking 72 year old there's ever been? Didn't think he was that old until reading that article.

Yeah, he looks good, him and Tim Dalton from Penny Dreadful. Must be all that sex with 20 sumthing actresses.

As alluded to in the other thread:

A friend was out with cast and crew in Belfast last week. They were in a private members only club, behind very closed doors.

In the room were producers, other crew, Sophie Turner, and...... Kit Harrington.

I've no idea of the why/how etc, but he still hasn't cut his hair and had been in the script read throughs.

Whether this is on the book thread or the show it is equally a spoiler smile

Just pointing that out as we are the same place with both.

Probably is a spoiler, but Charles Dance was also in the same position.

And this year there will be flashbacks.

Just realised, the Baratheon line is dead, so who rules in Storm's End now? biggrin

No big deal I suppose. The TV will always be ahead from now on, if it didn't happen this series, it would the next.

Fully expected this, much as I would like to be reading the new book now I would still rather he takes his time and polishes it before release. I'm now in the position of waiting for the next book from 3 different authors, knowing my luck they will all come out at the same time wink

It will be interesting to see if the TV show reveals who Jon Snows parents are this season, all the rumours (flashback heavy via TreeBran) seem to suggest we will be seeing a lot of the past. Seeing the tower of joy action will be nice smile

Problem is, I don't get the feeling he's polishing. I get the feeling he's gone off on another massive tangent bringing in loads of extra characters and plot lines.

He's hardly the sort of chap to focus and deliver the core story - so far he's done almost anything he could to delay the actual main thread...

I'm actually in the strange position of enjoying the show more than the books. That's never happened before.

Starting to think the only chance of getting the full literary story is via another author once GRR has shuffled off this mortal coil.
