Hi all after 2.5yrs without a mini I have returned.

This time with a 6mth old ex demo R56 S with nav and a few other cool toys.

However I have a couple of problems. I like to listen to good music at a good volume but the car keeps on turning the music down, then back up again.

It is quite random, happens whilst stationary and also at various speeds at various points in a track.

Is very annoying. Can still here the music but the volume noticeably turns down....surely this is not meant to happen?

This has nothing to do with speed control, I have played around with that and the issue is not purely speed related.

Imagine your favourite song comes on you turn it up and the car turns it down at the best point. Is that annoying!

Second issue, less annoying but still a pain, is the car always "shuffles" any CD I play on my ipod through the usb feature. The ipod itself is not on shuffle. Is there anyway to turn this off?

Any hints or tips much appreciated (is a late 2010 R56 with Sat Nav, USB and no HK - running radio boost)

Hi Matt,

You mention you have SatNav, could it be anything to do with when the satnav woman comes on, it reduces the volume? Not sure how it would be connected but sounds like the only reason it would do that.

Dunno!

its a fair point actually, is like that but the sat nav woman isn't talking as it does it when no route is selected!

think there is something up, but worth a go with her on mute. she drives me nuts anyway!
