What does your commute look like?
Discussion
This is mine...
Morning ride goes from left to right, with the evening ride simply being the reverse.
As you can see, it's pretty much flat - just a couple of small hills, with the main one being in mile 28 of the round trip, which is nice.
There are, however, 81 sets of traffic lights! That's an average of one set every 330 yards or 54 seconds, so it' essentially one big long interval run.
I only got back into riding a couple of months ago, so hope to lose another couple of stone and try to get the ride time down to an hour each way. Not sure how realistic that is though!
So what do other people's commutes look like?

How does one do a map with the elevation information?
I think the OP's is done via Garmin but if you have GPS data you can upload it to http://ridewithgps.com - even if you don't have GPS you can still map your route and have it calculate elevationsCaptain Answer said:

Mine is done with Endomondo (www.endomondo.com) on a Blackberry Bold which automatically uploads the results to the web. The app is free, and so long as you've got a GPS-enabled Blackberry, iPhone or Android, you can use it.Kermit power said:

Mine looks rather similar to the second half of yours: http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/sFBpx-rXWr4Morning ride goes from left to right, with the evening ride simply being the reverse.

Well so it should be faster! You're 15 years my junior, and only doing half the distance! ...but faster
Plus I stop for the traffic lights!

Inspired by this thread I counted the lights on my 13.9 mile commute in this morning, I go from Camden to Twickenham:
100 exactly (and two security barriers at each end of Kensington Palace Gardens).
I'm really starting to wonder if I should be looking at more alternateives on my route...
At the very least, it's got to be nicer to ride through Richmond Park than along the South Circular, surely?100 exactly (and two security barriers at each end of Kensington Palace Gardens).

That part of the South Circular isn't too busy and it's a nice wide road.
Gavster, have you considered Putney Bridge, Kings Road, Sloane Street, Hyde Park and up?
That would avoid the Hammersmith Roundabout nightmare, as well as including the lovely cycle path up the right hand side of Hyde Park - no lights!
(Not sure what you do north of Marble Arch, mind, there be dragons...)
I go home a different way (11.12 mls) but it is still a constant climb give or take.
Mornings (9.8 mls) are much quicker as it's a lot of downhill.
Edit: Just noticed it has straight lined some of the journey - I did think it was closer to 12 miles all in.
