But nearly happened tonight!

This isnt i'm a hero cause i fking jumped off my bike over the car with my bike still rolling i jumped back on... no... it was a screeching noise growing louder and louder as a clapped out van decided he wanted to over take me and as he did (on a brow of a hill i might add!!) a lovely 911 popped over and gave the van driver a fright it appears so yanked on the anchors in a hope not to run me over.....

TBH i would of been fecked if he had actually gone for the move and wouldn't of been able to do anything or aware of it till it was too late as i was maxed out keeping 14 mph up the hill...

Anyway no other reason to post this than keep your wits about you guys as you get some summer evening rides (albeit its been raining all day here in edinburgh)

Had the same not so long ago, I was even riding in the middle of my lane in the hope that forcing the overtaking car into the oncoming lane on the brow of a hill would deter them but nope!

Certainly gets the old ticker racing, but brings it home how vulnerable you are to complete morons

I do this quite regularly on blind corners and hills... It amazes me the amount of people who still insist on overtaking.

Oh nothing happened to me, but thanks for asking smile

It just was very very close and the driver couldnt of looked less concerned if he'd tried. I wasnt even engaged enough to realise how close he'd got and that i should be shouting some form of abuse other than to put my fingers together and shrug my shoulders to say 'how close'! I suppose if he'd given me an expression i'd of gone off on one but as it was a steepish hill and as i say i was doing well to keep up that pace he pulled away not to be seen again on the road.

I can believe that its easy to let your guard down and switch off but i was in bright white windstopper with my lights on (was 7pm and wet so thought i needed them)and the roads were windy which you'd want to be aleart for others approaching you if nothing else...
